Six weeks on...

Joshua's six week check-up at the baby clinic went very well. He has now grown from 54cm to 61cm and has gained a lot of weight, from 4.02kg to 5.2kg, which we're very pleased with. He's still around the 90th percentile. He started smiling quite early on - at around three weeks - but now smiles when he looks you in the eye. He's holding his head up very well now and can do so for quite some time. He seems like a happy little boy and rarely cries unless he needs something.

Breastfeeding started off very difficult and continues to be a bit of a challenge. Becky is taking medication and herbal remedies to boost milk production and Joshua gets topped up with formula. However, Becky isn't giving up with breastfeeding and continues to persevere despite the difficulties.

Becky took him into the township for the first time today. Fortunately he has had his TB injection and is protected. He is due to have the rest of his injections at the govt clinic as the private clinic is far too expensive. More on this later!
